Would you like to help keep the gardens at Plas Brondanw thriving and beautiful? Paul the head gardener is looking for volunteers to assist him in the gardens. There is a very wide range of tasks to suit all skills and fitness levels, and work in the greenhouse for the rare few days of nasty weather.
So if you’d relish working in a unique historic creation in a stunning location call Paul on 01766 772772 or email him at email@example.com
Caffi Plas Brondanw is opening again for the season on Saturday 1st of April. Cafe opening hours are 10am – 4pm and garden opening hours are 10am – 5pm, 7 days a week. Admission into the garden is £5, but you do not need to pay this if you are only visiting the cafe.
The Plas house is now open as an art gallery showcasing Susan Williams-Ellis’s works and various local artists will have exhibitions over the coming season. Entry to the house is free of charge.http://http://www.plasbrondanw.com/oriel-brondanw/
Following my mini recruitment drive I can now inform that I was very successful and am looking forward to working with my new staff members, and welcoming back the existing ones. Thank you to all others that applied.
We will be re-opening the cafe on the 1st of April.
In the meantime the Gardens are still open every day of the week, entrance fees to be put in the honesty box on the other side of the blue entrance gate. The snowdrops are now out!
We have also appointed a new Head Gardener, Paul o’ Byrne, whom you may see around the gardens. He is working hard to get the garden ready for the Spring season. The ‘little fireman’ pond is currently undergoing a clean out of overgrowth and the fountain should be back in working order. He is more than happy to answer any questions you may have.
Back in October a biomass heating system was put in to heat the Plas house, the cafe, the Orangery, the greenhouse, and some of the surrounding houses. This was done with minimum damage to the gardens, thank you to Keith W. Jones and ESP.
It’s time for another feast at Plas Brondanw Caffi and this time we will be visiting the Far East! I will be cooking authentic dishes from various countries across South East Asia, which is known for its vibrant and fresh flavours. Perfect to counteract these dark, cold winter nights and a far cry from the more traditional Christmas fayre!
You will be welcomed with a Singapore Sling cocktail and an Asian inspired amuse bouche.
Places usually fill up quickly so book early. I will need all bookings in by 26th November please.
Looking forward to it! Lowri.
Brondanw Estate is installing a new biomass system that will heat the Plas and some of the nearby buildings.
Following a consultation process it was decided that the best way to run the necessary pipework was through some sections of the garden. The landscape will be re-constructed following the works.
This project is being managed by The Clough Williams Ellis Foundation, ESP Energy and Keith W. Jones.
If you require more information you can contact us on 01743241181.
Please note that toilet facilities are not available during this time but the gardens remain open as usual. Only a small section is affected by the work.
Plas Brondanw cafe will be closing for Winter on the 3oth of September. Until then we will be serving tea, coffee and cakes from 10am until 3pm.
I would like to thank everyone who have visited us since re-opening in March, it has been a great season and I have met lots of lovely people.
I will be holding a number of foodie evenings in the cafe over the Winter months, details of which will be posted here, on Facebook and Twitter.
The Gardens remain open all year round as usual. There is an honesty box on the other side of the big blue gates for admissions/ donations.
Again, thank you for all your support. We will be re-opening Easter 2017 and I look forward to welcoming you back next season.
Plas Brondanw Gardens will be open for charity on Thursday the 14th of July. All admissions between 10am and 5pm will go to the NGS Scheme who is the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK. Charities donated to include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK, Carer’s Trust, Parkinson’s UK, to name but a few.
Your generous donation will help continue to provide nursing and caring support for thousands of people.
We will be taking part in The Festival of Gardens of North Wales from 28.5.16 to 5.6.16. To celebrate this event our gardener, Peter Hill, will be taking guided tours around the Plas gardens on Tuesday 31st and Wednesday 1st at 11am and 2pm. His talk will concentrate on the history and design of the gardens.
Also local Welsh tutor, Llinos Griffin will be holding taster Welsh learning sessions in the Orangery on Monday 30th at 11.30am and has organised a Welsh learners Treasure Hunt in the Gwyllt opposite the formal gardens on June 1st at 1pm.
Also there will be a short exhibition of works by local artist Sian Elen, held at The Orangery from 28thth May to 6th June.
